Whitney Mercilus (born July 21, 1990) is an American football linebacker for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the University of Illinois, and was recognized as an All-American. He was selected by the Texans in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and was considered one of the best defensive end prospects for 2012.
