Remember when people wondered if Vernon Davis would ever be able to take advantage of his tremendous raw talent? The San Francisco 49ers tight end took three years before he lived up his 6th overall draft pick status in 2006, but he’s since turned into one of the premier tight ends in the league. And part of the reason for that is his relationship with Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, who has served as a bit of a mentor for the younger Davis after they met at the 2009 Pro Bowl.
