Broadway Joe Namath can still throw the bomb and this one landed at the feet of Rex Ryan. With the Jets having limped back from what at least one said was a “humiliating” loss to the Raiders in Oakland, Namath went on ESPN Radio Tuesday to suggest that Ryan has improperly inflated the team’s egos. “I think these guys might be believing that they’re better than they are,” he said.

RED SOX WILL GO OUT FOR HIM.

How about this? Joe Namath is being critical of the Jets again. That is so unlike him. This time, in a brilliant bit of irony, the quarterback who is most famous for boasting to the media is saying that the Jets and head coach Rex Ryan talk too much, and that the bombastic coach has given his players an inflated sense of their own abilities.
Truthfully, Namath does have a very good point in this latest criticism, as Ryan’s Jets have become infamous around the league for running their mouths in the press over the past three years, but it’s still hard to ignore the fact that Namath once had the exact same reputation. Of course, he did back it up, but if he keeps criticizing the team for which he sees himself as an ambassador, he probably shouldn’t be expecting too many more visits to training camp or the owner’s box.
