RED SOX WILL GO OUT FOR HIM.

The long saga that has become “Chris Pronger’s”: season took another strange turn on Friday when GM Paul Holmgren announced that the “Philadelphia Flyers’”: captain was suffering from “concussion-like symptoms” and would be out indefinitely. Pronger hasn’t played since November 19 when the team said that he had a virus, then announced that he would undergo knee surgery at the end of the month, which would keep him out for all of December. So the revelation that he is now suffering from concussion symptoms is certainly a surprise, because it means that it must have been one that he first got nearly a month ago (assuming it happened on the ice).
What is a possibility is that Pronger suffered the concussion prior to his last appearance on the ice on November 19, and the “virus” was actually the immediate effects of it. It’s even possible that it was not initially diagnosed, as vomiting and nausea are common symptoms of concussion victims, and could easily be mistaken for symptoms of a virus if no one thought to check for a head injury.
