Garnett could be disciplined for post-game scuffle

The Boston Celtics may have lost more than a basketball game on Christmas; they could have lost their power forward for a time as well. After Kevin Garnett missed a game-tying jumper as time expired, he got into an altercation with Knicks guard and ex-Celtic teammate Bill Walker. It’s unclear who initiated the scuffle, but Garnett’s actions were certainly the most noticeable as he reached up and grabbed Walker’s throat before being separated by teammates and Knicks guard Baron Davis (see video above).

The incident in and of itself wasn’t all that egregious, but the combination of a nationally-televised Christmas Day game and the contact to the throat — a big no-no in all pro sports leagues — means that it certainly will be reviewed by NBA officials, and league VP Stu Jackson could hand down a fine or even a one- or two-game suspension to make an example out of Garnett.

Well, that didn't take long. Kevin Garnett could be in trouble with the league after one game.
