Jagr has groin strain, could miss 10 days

Philadelphia Flyers winger Jaromir Jagr played just a few shifts in Monday’s Winter Classic loss to the Rangers due to a groin strain, and the team announced today that while the injury is not considered serious, it will sideline him for 7-10 days. It’s the latest in a series of injuries for the Flyers this season, who have already lost Chris Pronger for the season and were without their best player in Claude Giroux for a week in December due to a concussion.

While the Flyers have plenty of depth at forward and shouldn’t miss Jagr too much over the next week, the timing of the injury is not good as they have dropped to fourth in the conference and currently have a bit of a goalie controversy between Ilya Bryzgalov and Sergei Bobrovsky.
