Sixers' Turner flashing No. 2-pick potential

If the 2010 NBA Draft is done again some would suggest that Greg Monroe would be the conscience No. 2 pick overall. Evan Turner has shown flashes of what could make him a very special player in the NBA, however he just hasn’t been able to put all together yet. Doug Collins coached a young Chicago Bulls team in the late 80’s, and while no one is ready to compare Turner to Scottie Pippin, the second year guard from OSU does possess a similar skill set albeit on much lesser level—as of now. Turner, who at small forward can do a bit of everything, has come off the bench and seen his production increase over the past ten games. He is proving to be an good defender, a solid rebounder and a good passer when attacking the basket. He can effectively play two or three positions on the court, but still needs to become more consistant on the offensive end.

Evan Turner nearly led the Sixers all the way back from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit Wednesday night, but his 20 points and 11 rebounds weren’t enough.
