Cross another team off the list of potential suitors of New Orleans Hornets Center Chris Kaman. The Philadelphia 76ers current payroll is sitting at $65.8M, and while Kaman’s $14M salary could be considered an asset as it expires at the end of the year, the strong play that the Sixers have gotten from Center Spencer Hawes (PER 22.4) has made center much less of a priority than originally expected. On top of that, Hawes is still recovering from an Achilles injury, and he and perhaps rookie big man Nikola Vucevic would have to be the centerpiece of any trade. The reality is such that the Sixers are in both great shape financially, and from a talent standpoint, and are not in dire need of drastically tinkering with their roster.
