RED SOX WILL GO OUT FOR HIM.

As far as Tom Coughlin is concerned, all of the media hype surrounding the health and availability of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is pointless. While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Coughlin said that there was no doubt in his mind the Gronkowski, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the AFC Championship game and has not practiced with the team since then, will be suited up and ready to go on Sunday.
Despite the constant ‘will he or won’t he’ coverage, the smart money would be in line with Coughlin’s thinking. As the most important component of the Patriots’ passing attack (he caught 17 of Tom Brady’s 39 touchdown passes this season), it seems extremely unlikely that Gronkowski won’t at least suit up. How effective he will be, however, is another story. Even if Gronkowski’s ankle is close to 100% (unlikely, although he was sans walking boot at the team’s practice facility on Wednesday), the fact that he hasn’t really practiced with the team in the past two weeks could mean some rust when he does get on the field.
Either way, the Giants will be game planning as if Gronkowski is going to be on the field and at close to maximum effectiveness.
