RED SOX WILL GO OUT FOR HIM.

For any of the Boston Red Sox players who were concerned about not enjoying the Bobby Valentine era, they might have those fears realized sooner than they think. With Spring Training due to open in less than two weeks, Valentine has already promised to run a “rigorous” training camp, which means plenty of calisthenics, wind sprints, and fundamental drills — in short, nothing that could be considered fun.
But for any complaints that arise, the players have to know that they brought this upon themselves with their lackluster play in September of last year, which was due in large part to a lackadaisical atmosphere in the clubhouse. As a polar opposite of Terry Francona, Valentine was brought in specifically to reverse that atmosphere, so it makes perfect sense to get started right away in camp.
In other words, the fried chicken and beer days are over.
