Broken foot will sideline van Riemsdyk for at least a month

The injury woes got worse for the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday when they learned that 22-year-old winger James van Riemsdyk will miss 4-6 weeks with a broken foot that he suffered while blocking a shot in the team’s 6-3 win over the Islanders on Thursday night. van Riemsdyk had to have surgery to repair the fracture, which could sideline him for the rest of the regular season.
