Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills haven’t had a dynamic pass rusher since Bruce Smith. They have struck out with draft picks like John McCargo, Chris Ellis, and Aaron Maybin, and have never been able lure a big time free agent to Orchard Park in the last decade. Well, that changed this week by paying a small ransom for the former the No.1 overall pick in the 2006 draft. The Bills committed six years and $100 million ($50 million guaranteed) to the former Texan in the hopes that his arrival, along with Marcell Dareus, will begin to change the culture in Buffalo.

The Bills without question paid retail for Williams services, and while he might be one of the more elite pass rushers in the NFL, he has only tallied back-to-back seasons of double-digit sacks once in his career. He has struggled to stay healthy for most of his career, yet when he’s on the field he is certainly difference maker. The Bills can now feel confident about having addressed one of their primary needs in free agency, and can look to upgrade other areas of need this year in the upcoming draft.
