Francisco Rodriguez is eager to get his 300th career save this season, but he knows that it will take some time. K-Rod picked up No. 292 on Tuesday night against the Cubs, but given his role as the setup man to closer John Axford, opportunities like that are going to be few and far between. K-Rod was reportedly upset that the team didn’t follow through on a promise to give him the occasional save opportunity after they traded for him from the Mets last season, but if he was, it clearly wasn’t enough to create much resentment as he chose to re-sign with Milwaukee as a free agent this offseason.
