Mike Woodson will likely be back next season

There’s no denying that the New York Knicks’ season did a complete 180 when Mike Woodson took over for Mike D’Antoni in mid-March, as the team immediately ended a six-game losing streak and went 18-6 the rest of the way. And though they’ve barely put up a fight in the first round against the Miami Heat, the Knicks are showing real interest in bringing him back for another season. Woodson denied reports that the sides are already working on an extension, but they could begin in earnest once the Knicks’ playoff run is over.

The biggest change in the Knicks’ demeanor under Woodson has been their new commitment to defense.
