Josh Hamilton had the greatest night of any hitter in American League history on Tuesday when he tied a Major League record by hitting four home runs (he’s the 16th player to do so), drove in 8 runs, and added a double to give him an AL-record 18 total bases on the night.
Hamilton was already tied for the league lead in homers with 10 coming into the night, and now launched himself ahead of Curtis Granderson. He now leads the majors in all Triple Crown categories with a .406 average, 14 homers, and 36 RBIs.
