LOS ANGELES — A one-game suspension to Martin Hanzal wasn't enough in the eyes of some L.A. Kings.
“I mean, I know these games are probably worth more,” Kings captain Dustin Brown, the victim of the boarding penalty, said Thursday morning. “I thought he was going to get two, but it's not an easy decision to make. Especially considering we're in the Western finals. As a player, you don't really worry about the length. That's something for the media which really likes to talk about considering the state of the game right now.

Phoenix Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal was handed a one-game suspension for his boarding penalty against Kings captain Dustin Brown in the third period of their Game 2 loss, forcing him to sit out Thursday night’s Game 3 in favor of Benoit Pouliot. But was it enough? Given some of the lengthier suspensions handed down by Brendan Shanahan this postseason, such as Carl Hagelin’s three-game ban in the Rangers’ first round series against Ottawa, it seemed a hit as violent as the one that Hanzal threw on Brown would have garnered a longer punishment.
