Centerfielder Austin Jackson has been the most productive Tiger in the Detroit lineup this season, but the problem is that he’s not currently in the lineup. Jackson has been out for over a week with an abdominal injury that is lingering longer than the club originally expected. Now they face a decision about whether or not to put him on the disabled list, since playing with a short bench is bound to catch up with them sooner or later. The team will likely make a decision about Jackson by Friday, and if he does end up on the DL it will be retroactive to May 16, making him eligible to come off on June 1 in Detroit’s series opener against the Yankees.
