After nearly a third of the MLB season has been put behind us, the time has come to check in on the race for the MVP. To this point in the season, there have been many surprises around the National League, perhaps none more interesting than the fact that all of the teams in the NL East are above .500. But for Mets fans, the hot bat of third baseman David Wright is unequivocally the most welcome sight to most certainly sore eyes. The former All-Star’s torrid performance is the reason he leads off the list of frontrunners for the MVP title.
