All eyes will be on Spain from the very beginning of Euro 2012. The Spaniards begin their title defense against Italy, the 2006 World Cup Champions; Croatia, who last featured in Euro 2008; and the Republic of Ireland, who has not qualified for the Euro since 1988.
Spain is still the odds-on favorite to win the competition despite losing striker David Villa to injury. They shouldn’t have too difficult a time qualifying out of Group C, but they will certainly be challenged by strong Croatian, Italian, and Irish sides.
