LA Kings sign goalie Quick to 10-year extension

Already sporting a Stanley Cup ring and the Conn Smythe trophy, now Kings goalie Jonathan Quick is the newest recipient of a long and luctrative contract extension. LA locked up their franchise netminder (or will when he officially signs it on Sunday) to a 10-year, $58 million extension that will kick in at the end of next season when his current deal expires. This allows the Kings to keep him on the book at his present salary cap hit of $1.8 million in 2012-13, thereby not inhibiting their current offseason plans. He will then have a $5.8m cap hit through 2023.
