The Washington Redskins came to terms with their second overall pick, Heisman-winning quarterback Robert Griffin III, on a 4-year, $21 million contract that ensures that he’ll be under center when the team begins training camp later this month. The deal is a win for both sides, as Griffin gets nearly two-thirds of it in the form of a signing bonus, and the Redskinds don’t make a huge financial commitment in the event that he turns out to be a bust. Perhaps the most significant part of the deal is that it allows Griffin to re-negotiate after three years rather than play out the entire contract.
