The Golden State Warriors and the Chicago Bulls continue to look to add depth their roster on Monday, as both teams made small but significant moves to bolster their rotation.
Carl Landry, who got off to a good start in New Orleans last season before being slowed by injury, reportedly inked a two-year deal with the Warriors worth $8 million with a player option in the second year. The Warriors have been in the process of transitioning away from Don Nelson’s small ball mentality by looking to add more of of presence in the paint, which is precisely what Landry brings. Landry finished the season with an APER of 19.00 and shot 42 percent from inside the paint.
It’s coming of home of sorts for Nate Robinson, as he joins with his former defensive coach from his time in Boston in signing with the Bulls. Chicago will most likely be without Derrick Rose until late into the season, and needed to add a multi-purpose combo guard who can play off the ball and create his own shot off the dribble. Robinson is coming off a season in which he saw a rise in almost every statistical category from the year prior. His APER (19.42) rose 15.81 points in extended play last season with a eFG% of 49.2, up from 33.3 percent the previous season.
